In Week 6, the heavily favored Philadelphia Eagles, led by Jalen Hurts, faced off against the struggling New York Jets, who Jets had lost their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to injury, making the Eagles the favorites. However, despite the odds, the Jets emerged victorious.
Surprisingly, it was Zach Wilson of the Jets who had a more impressive performance than Hurts, as the latter, who recently signed a significant contract extension, had a disappointing outing. He threw one touchdown and three interceptions, with the last turnover proving costly, leading to the Jets‘ game-winning touchdown run by Breece Hall.
Frustrated at Hurts
Fans expressed frustration with Hurts, and one even compared him to Dak Prescott, who had a tough game the previous week.
“Jalen Hurts looked like f***ing Dak Prescott out there… OC couldn’t get the run game going and we lost to fucking Zach Wilson… I hate this team,” the fan wrote on social media.
Hurts now leads the NFC in interceptions, with a total of seven, surpassing his previous season’s interception count of six.
Credit goes to Robert Saleh‘s Jets defense, which has confounded top quarterbacks, including Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The Jets‘ 3-3 record suggests they are not to be underestimated, and their defense has the potential to carry the team and potentially break their 12-season playoff drought.
