Colorado and Colorado State’s recent football matchup drew an impressive audience of 9.3 million viewers over the weekend, setting a new record as the most-streamed regular-season college football game in ESPN’s history. This marked a significant increase from their 2019 meeting, which garnered only 1.28 million viewers. Notably, Colorado’s thrilling double-overtime win against Colorado State, which concluded in the early hours of Sunday for most viewers, established itself as the most-watched late-night college football game ever broadcasted on ESPN.

Coach Deion Sanders’ Colorado team kicked off the game after 10 p.m. ET and secured their victory around 2:30 a.m. Despite the late hour, it became ESPN’s fifth most-watched regular-season game across all time slots. For context, ESPN’s college football broadcasts averaged approximately 1.7 million viewers last year.
Furthermore, this game also achieved the distinction of being the most-streamed regular-season college football game in ESPN’s history.

Notably, Colorado’s first two games under Coach Sanders were broadcasted by Fox, featured in the network’s Big Noon game slot. Both victories against TCU and Nebraska together averaged around 8 million viewers for Fox.
Looking ahead, Colorado is set to face off against No. 10 Oregon in a highly anticipated game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on ABC this Saturday.
