Brock Purdy didn’t just toss four interceptions in the 49ers’ loss to the Ravens on Christmas, he aggravated his shoulder injury in the late stages of the game.

Speaking to the media this Thursday afternoon, Purdy made it clear that his stinger won’t prevent him from playing against the Commanders this weekend.

“No, it’s been good,” Purdy said, via 49ers WebZone. “Just got a lot of treatment done on it and everything. Sort of just work out the soreness within the whole shoulder area, trap area. But it feels good, so I’ll be good for this game.”

Purdy was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, which is usually a great sign for a player’s availability.

Despite how well Purdy has played this season, his critics will be closely watching Sunday’s game to see how he responds after throwing four interceptions on national television.

If Purdy bounces back in a huge way this Sunday, that should erase any doubts the 49ers have heading into the postseason.

The 49ers could clinch the No. 1 seed this Sunday. Not only do they need to defeat the Commanders, they need the Cardinals to upset the Eagles.
